Toby Scott

Founder & Managing Director

Toby Scott is the founder of Tascott & Co and holds overall responsibility for the direction of the company, asset acquisitions and management. After an early career in law in the UK Toby arrived in New Zealand in 2003 and took up a role with ANZ bank's specialist property and construction finance team, embarking upon a pathway which satisfied his long fascination with property.

 

Initially in Auckland, and more latterly covering the South Island, Toby spent many years providing debt funding and structured finance guidance to some of New Zealand's most prolific developers and investors, including many of the largest and now most successful syndicators in the market. Over his career Toby has been involved with underwriting debt positions for a diverse range of real estate sectors, values and complexities including managing a significant commercial real estate loan book through the challenges of the GFC and the Christchurch earthquakes.

In 2019 Toby resurrected the name of an old family property business, originally established over 75years ago in Lancashire, and Tascott & Co was reborn.
